Don’t Pet The Bison -Wichita Mountains Pt. 2

One of my very dearest friends came into town last week, so we naturally decided to drive four hours to hang out in Oklahoma for half a second and then drive four hours back to Wichita. Naturally.

Anyway, we ran around on some rocks at the Wichita Mountains and poked around the Holy City of the Wichitas and stumbled through the rain to a castle tower. We also found some bison.

Apparently we weren’t the only ones.

I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at a stranger before.

He got sort of close. And then he got closer (see photograph). And then he got even closer and the bison shuffled his feet up a little bit. And that’s when I found myself putting down my camera, sticking my head out the car window, and yelling all sorts of things.

I’m not sure who was more surprised -me, him, my friend, or the bison. Good news -no trampling ensued.
