I stopped by the Heskett Center yesterday to check out the Paralympic Experience -an event put on by Wheelchair Sports, a nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of adaptive sports and recreational activities. The Paralympic Experience invites people to check out three Paralympic events –handcycling, tennis and bocce. I was really interested in handcycling, which is like biking, but with your hands and arms.
They let me try one of the handcycles out. Not going to lie -it was more challenge than I thought it would be.

A close up on James’ handcycle.
A big thank you to Grady, Rebecca, Wayne, Tammy, James and Kent, who took the time to talk to me about handcycling.
