El, Minnesota, Panda Bread, Lovely Creatures Cabaret And The American Swedish Institute

Happy Presidents Day weekend! Kansas has made me weak and soft and very unadventurous. Naturally, the only remedy was to drive 10 hours to visit El and make Panda Bread.

Oh look! It’s winking!

Then we tromped off to watch her roommates’ acrobalance group, Head Over Heels, perform with The Lovely Creatures Cabaret.

Burlesque dancing to Sesame Street. Decidedly unexpected.

Goyte tribute!

The next day, El and I decided to pay a trip to the American Swedish Institute. Best $6 I’ve ever spent.

El would like to remind you that proper museum etiquette includes silencing your phone.

Some sort of whittling thing.

Graffiti Dala! Whatcha writing there, Eleanor?

We take our cacti gardening very seriously.

Stop laughing, Eleanor.

In case you didn’t click on the “weak and soft” link above, I’m giving you another chance (how generous!): Our Quarter-Life Crises.

In other news, I now know the words to almost every current top-40 song, thanks to the 20+ hours I drove this weekend. Oh, who am I kidding -I’ve known all the words for weeks.

Through My Headphones

*A Nervous Tic Motion (Live) -Andrew Bird
*Perth -Bon Iver
*Do The Whirlwind Mash -Architecture in Helsinki vs. Busta Rhymes
*Call Your Girlfriend -Robyn
*Princess of China -Coldplay & Rihanna
