30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 6

Day 6:

Fruit

(Really, the challenge order has been completely abandoned.)

Dillons has a 10 lbs for $10 apple sale going on. Needless to say, I have a lot of apples in my house, which means I’ve been making a lot of applesauce.

Homemade Applesauce

Peel apples. Cut into lots of chunks and put them in a pot with a little bit of water and a lot of cinnamon. Simmer for ages. Stir occasionally. Eat warm.

More fun with the SB-900.

Long exposure/flash fun! Shot at 1.3 s with flash at… um… 1/8? And zoomed at 200mm and focused on the apples. Something like that. It all kind of gives my kitchen a sort of trashy/dirty/retro feel.

  1. Kat, I admire your ambition in shooting something every day for 30 days. I also appreciate the recipe, as I’m starting to cook more and look for simple and creative recipes! Your shot in the kitchen is really creative and the lighting in all of the shots is uniquely beauitful. And you would mention the technicalities. I remember how annoyed you’d get when photographers would never explain the lighting process. Ha ha!
